NanoMECommons is establishing a transnational and multidisciplinary research and innovation network to tackle the problem of nanomechanical materials characterisation in multiple industries.
The aim of the project is to create improved interoperability and traceability of data, and offer protocols for multi-technique, multi-scale characterisations of mechanical properties in a range of industrially relevant sectors. The project is also creating novel tools for data sharing and focusing on developing specific ontologies and standardised data documentation.

NanoMECommons is a 4-year project, which started in February 2021 and it is led by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). This project is funded by the EU H2020 Research and Innovation action – RIA (€ 5 9 million – Grant Agreement 952869 – Call: DT- NMBP-35-2020). It has the participation of 19 partners (11 from industry and 8 academia and research), coming from 10 countries
